Some recent work carried out in Banbury of a consumer unit change. The previous consumer unit had no 30mA RCD protection with the old rewireable pull out fuses still in place.
Not to mention the wiring of the current consumer unit was very messy and unsafe.
A new 18th edition (current electrical regulations) consumer unit was installed with 30mA RCD protection to all circuits and surge protection type 2.
All works were tested and certified with notification to building control in accordance with Part P of the building regulations.
Please check out this link which explains the importance of 30mA RCD protection in domestic households: https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/guidance/safety-around-the-home/rcds-explained/
